What does Homeless look like?

Here at Crestview Area Shelter for the Homeless, we help several people within one week. These services can be anything from a shower to helping with housing. There are many different services we help within a day. Let me paint you a picture of what a day could look like for one of our clients. They have been staying in a tent smelling like a campfire. They come in to get clean clothes, wash up, and get what little clothes they have washed. Then one day it rains; all the stuff they had is now wet, to point where it could be ruined. This person now needs a sleeping bag or warm blankets so they can stay warm and dry while at their campsite. re

Shelter Life

When you hear the word homeless; most think of that person asking for money in some parking lot so they can get their next meal. What if homeless is that single mother that has 2 kids who just was told to leave because her rent went up so much that could not afford to keep a roof over her kids? Within the shelter, these people are working on getting life together to get their place again. This can sometimes take some time depending on where they are willing to travel.
